Frequently Asked Questions

What is the ideal vacuum level for fat harvesting? Research has revealed that 20 Hg is the thresh hold. Fat harvested at vacuum levels above 20 Hg shows a significant drop in cell viability. For best results keep your vacuum between 15 and 18 Hg.

Does it matter what kind of aspirator I use? The Aquavage is designed to work with any vacuum system. Your current system should have control, and enough power to maintain a consistent vacuum level of 18 Hg you will achieve good results.

What type of cannula is best for fat harvesting? The purpose of fat harvesting is to maintain as many live cells as possible for reinjection and to harvest in most cases little or no connective tissue.  Research has shown that holes too small tend to cause excessive breakage of cell membranes and stem cell loss. We recommend a 3 or 4 mm Mercedes or Triport cannula.

How does the Aquavage compare to other fat transer devices available?  The Aquavage is a true high volume system. It is designed to work with all types of tissue and to maintain the highest cell viability possible.  It is designed for simplicity of operation.

Can the Aquavage be reused? No, it is designed for single patient use. It cannot be re-sterilized or reused for another procedure.
